The Swedish Cancer Society is an independent non-profit organization and one of its goals is to find a cure for cancer.  The organization also wants to make people survive at a higher rate when patients are suffering from cancer. They also collect money for its research against cancer.
Every sixth death in the world is due to cancer, making it the number two leading cause of death in the world. Some famous people who had cancer are Bob Marley, Lance Armstrong, Rod Stewart and Hugh Jackman.

I work as a dentist and therefore I always search for oral cancer during my rutine check up on patients. The first sign of oral cancer is often a small red or white spot or sore in the mouth, especially tricky is the tounge rooth cancer. If you notice any symptoms or think you have a sore in your mouth that wont heal in the next 1-2 veeks you should contact you dentist for a follow up. The same goes to if you have noticed symptoms or pain or numbness anywhere inyour mouth or on your lips.

Some of the symptoms are of a oral cancer may be:

  • A sore that doesn’t heal.

  • A sore that bleeds.

  • A growth, lump or thickening of the skin or lining of your mouth.

  • Loose teeth.

  • Poorly fitting dentures.

  • Tongue pain.

  • Jaw pain or stiffness.

  • Difficult or painful chewing.
